The world seemed to slow to a crawl. Seconds seemed like minutes. The undead ceased their attacks. No. They ceased everything. The shambling horde no longer moved at all. The were petrified, as if held in place by some unseen force. In actuality, they'd simply been forsaken by time. Blue energy with black shade began to come into view, individually encasing each of the hapless creatures. No longer able to move, the rotting corpses began to decompose. It wasn't a gradual decay. The process hurried along at an unimaginable pace. In mere moments, the undead no longer seemed petrified, they
were petrified. Now nothing more than grotesque lawn ornaments, the glow of the energy subsided. Now a bright green glow swarmed the statues, seemingly weighing down on them. The statues cracked, then crumbled before becoming nothing but dust, already being washed away by the rain.
Odric... when you said you were hungry for a fight, you weren't just talking big, were you?The familiar voice came from an unfamiliar person. Next to a mausoleum, hovering inches off the ground, was Gilgamesh. The rain curved around his form, being denied the chance to fall upon him. The Winged King's appearance had drastically changed in, what one would assume, to be a very short time. This was not the case for, as they would all eventually learn, Gilgamesh was a being that could fit years within moments, if he so chose. Gone were his feathery wings. They were now replaced by leathery wings. They were black, framed in blue, with glowing, red runes etched across them. He wore segmented, red body armor. The ragged cloak that had become as characteristic for him as his wings was now completely whole, repaired. It draped across the top of his body armor and hung over his head, hiding his face beneath it save for red, glowing eyes. On his shoulders were four pistons, constantly discharging electrical energy. He wore heavy, black and blue plated armor over what seemed to be segmented red armor on both legs. Heavy red and blue boots stretched to his knees. Even his arms were now covered, encased in black gauntlets with a blue glow. It was almost as if he were in a power suit. Most noticeable of all was the green glow from his right hand that died away in sync with the energy that had just crushed the statues he'd created.
Gilgamesh drifted towards his Rook. The rain continued to bend and curve around him as he moved through it.
Last we talked, what did I tell you about being careful?The Winged King turned to look at all those that remained. Energy began to emanate from his eyes and drift from beneath the hood as smoky light.
So what are we doing here? Were they fighting to help you, or fighting to kill you?
